Community Involvement

Community service is a core value of Earp Cohn P.C. We welcome the opportunity to give back to the communities within which our firm is built.   Our attorneys are supported and encouraged to be involved.  

Some community service organizations that have benefited from our lawyers' individual involvement include an array of social service and health and welfare organizations, youth sports and other youth groups, religious organizations, charities serving cultural or arts interests and more including:

  • American Red Cross
  • Camden Diocese Commission on the Protection of Children
  • DARE-NJ
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Junior Achievement for South Jersey
  • YMCA Camp Ockanickon
  • St. Regis Walk Homeowners' Association
  • Temple Emanuel, Cherry Hill
  • The Sierra Club
  • Coaching and leading a variety of youth sports organizations

In addition, the firm supports the community on many different levels ranging from donating to local charities and service organizations to sponsoring events as well as its own active participation. A few examples include:

  • American Cancer Society - purchase and distribute fresh-cut daffodils as part of ACS' Daffodil Days program, participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walks in Philadelphia, and sponsoring ACS black-tie Galas.
  • Camden County Bar Foundation - participate each year in the "Adopt-a-Family" program during the Holidays, along with the Camden Catholic Social Services. Everyone in the firm is invited to donate a gift and be part of the firm's effort to share the gift of giving with the selected family.
  • Junior Achievement - sponsor JA's Bowl-a-thons inviting anyone in the firm to participate while raising money for JA, which is committed to helping young people understand the economics of life.
  • Sponsor outings and/or other significant fundraising events for organizations such as:
    • Mental Health Association of Southwestern New Jersey , promoting mental wellness and eradicating the stigma of mental illness through community education, advocacy and supportive services;
    • Robin's Nest, Inc. an organization focused on helping children and families;
    • The Cooper Foundation, the charitable organization dedicated to providing support to Cooper University Hospital and The Cooper Health System.
    • Saint Joseph's Carpenter Society , focused on improving the quality of life of East Camden residents by promoting home ownership and neighborhood development.

On the governmental front, two of the firm's lawyers hold elected positions serving New Jersey communities and others serve in appointed capacities.

John H. Adler has served as a New Jersey State Senator since 1992, as Conference Chair of his Senate Caucus since 1994, and as Co-Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee since 2002.

Edward J. Borden, Jr., serves as a Haddonfield Borough Commissioner, moving into that elected position after serving several years on the Haddonfield Board of Education.

Richard B. Cohn is chairman of the Zoning Board of Haddonfield.
